Cybils Reminder

Tomorrow is the last day to nominate titles for the Cybils award. I am one of the lucky judges for the graphic novels committee, and I would love to have lots of titles to argue over...a-hem...discuss! Head on over to the Cybils to nominate!

So, I guess it's about time that I talk about the Cybils.

The Cybil Award is the blogger community's answer to the Best Lists. Best YA fiction, Best Picture Book, Best Graphic Novel...etc.

I am on the judging committee for the Graphic Novels. You won't see any reviews here until judging is over, because I think it may seem a little conflict of interest-y.

So...look forward to some super gn reviews in the near future, and head on over to the Cybil site to check everything out!

As you undoubtedly know, Octavian Nothing just won the National Book Award for Youth!

Yay!

I was lucky enough to attend the panel this week at Donnell and hear all nominated authors speak. I had read most of the books at the time (still have to read Sold and Lord Death). I have to say, I am very happy.
I had a bit of a yearning for American Born Chinese as it would be a boon to graphic novels everywhere, but Octavian Nothing really moved me.

So Yay!
